Sheikh (SHAYK, SHEEK,[1]Arabic: شَيْخ, romanized: shaykh[ʃajx], commonly[ʃeːχ], plural:شُيُوخ, shuyūkh[ʃujuːx])[a] is an honorific title in the Arabic language, literally meaning "elder".
