    Early Life and Childhood Struggles

    Hervé Villechaize was born in Paris, France, on April 23, 1943.

    His biological father's identity remains unknown, and he was raised in a foster family by a prominent surgeon. Villechaize was of Filipino descent, and from birth, he suffered from a thyroid disorder that stunted his growth, resulting in a dwarf-like stature.

    Despite his parents' efforts to treat his condition, Villechaize endured relentless bullying and humiliation at school.

    To cope with the trauma, he found solace in art, particularly painting.
