Ustad Vilayat Khan was a sitar player and a Hindustani classical musician. He was born on 28 August 1928 in Gouripur, Mymensingh, East Bengal (present day Bangladesh).

He was the son of Ustad Inayat Khan and the nephew of Ustad Imrat Khan. Vilayat Khan was one of the most renowned sitar players of his time and is considered to be one of the greatest exponents of the instrument ever.
